ShareAspace supports Message Threads and Messages, enabling a record of communication linked to the data being discussed in the messages.

Message thread

A Message Thread is a collection of Messages. It is possible for users, with the appropriate access, to create Message Threads. A Message Thread has a Title, a Description, a Moderator, and an Audience. A Message Thread can be owned by the Space instance or by Participants. It is also possible to Share Message Threads between Participants.

A Message Thread can also reference an object within a Space as the target of a discussion.

A Message Thread can be Open or Closed. The status of a thread is controlled by the Moderator.

Messages

When a thread is Open, users with the correct access can post messages within the thread as well as responding to existing messages. Once a user takes part in a conversation within a thread that user will be put in the audience list of the thread. This allows for the user to get notification whenever something happens within the thread, provided that the user has notifications turned on.
